Google Chrome

Clearing your web browser's cache, cookies, and history periodically would prevent or resolve performance problems of your computer. Here are the steps to clear your cache on Google Chrome.

How to Clear Your Cache on Google Chrome

Step 1: Start at the Google Chrome menu or the icon with three horizontal lines on the top-right corner of the screen. In the pull-down menu, select "More tools," then "Clear browsing data," which will open a pop-up tab.

Step 2: In the new box, check the "Cached images and files" option as well as any other types of data you'd like to clear. You'll find a dropdown menu at the top of the box where you can control the time period for which you want to clear. You can delete items anywhere from "Last hour" to "All time," which is simply as long as you've had the browser.

Step 3: Finally, click the "Clear data" tab at the bottom of the box.
